MDH and Olmsted County Public Health Services (OCPHS) conducted a joint investigation into the outbreak, and identified 18 confirmed Salmonella cases, and 23 cases overall that were connected to the consumption of food from the Quiznos restaurant. Investigators concluded that the source of the Quiznos Salmonella outbreak was tomatoes that were most likely already contaminated before they entered the restaurant.
