The recall was expanded to include millions of pounds of raw California almonds sold worldwide, and by June 1, 2004, over two dozen illnesses had been linked to consumption of contaminated almonds produced by Paramount Farms.
On May 24, 2004, Marler Clark filed a Salmonella lawsuit in Federal Court in Washington State against Paramount Farms on behalf of a Kennewick, Washington, family that developed Salmonella infections as a result of consuming the almonds. On July 1, 2004, the Salmonella lawyers filed a second lawsuit on behalf of a King County, Washington, man that also developed a Salmonella infection after consuming Paramount Farms almonds. Marler Clark filed several additional lawsuits against Paramount Farms before the matter was resolved out of court.
