Moon Marine USA Nakaochi (tuna) Scrape, Sushi Salmonella Outbreak Lawsuits

In 2012, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that a dual-strain Salmonella outbreak was caused by the consumption of Salmonella-contaminated Nakaochi Scrape (tuna scrape), a yellowfin tuna product used in sushi rolls, spicy tuna sushi rolls, and ceviche. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) determined the two outbreak strains to be Salmonella Bareilly and Salmonella Nchanga.

A total of 425 persons infected with the outbreak strains of Salmonella Bareilly (410 persons) or Salmonella Nchanga (15 persons) were reported from 28 states and the District of Columbia. 55 ill persons were hospitalized, and no deaths were reported.

On May 4, the Salmonella attorneys of Marler Clark filed a lawsuit on behalf of a heavy metal singer who was sickened while his band was on "The Sick Tour".

The firm has resolved several claims on behalf of Slamonella outbreak victims.
