Daniella Mango Salmonella Outbreak Lawsuits

The Marler Clark Salmonella attorneys represent victims of a 121-person Salmonella outbreak that was traced to Daniella brand mangoes that were grown in Mexico and distributed throughout the United States by Splendid Products. The law firm filed a lawsuit on behalf of a 92-year-old woman who was hospitalized for 10 days after consuming a Daniella brand mango in August of 2012 and is pursuing claims on behalf of other Salmonella outbreak victims.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention counted victims of the Salmonella outbreak from 15 states; the majority of cases were reported in California, but Salmonella cases were also counted in Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, Washington state and Wisconsin. At least 25 victims of the Salmonella outbreak were hospitalized due to the severity of their illness.

According to a press release, on September 13, 2012, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration placed Agricola Daniella on Import Alert. Agricola Daniella mangoes will be denied admission into the United States unless the importer shows the mangoes are not contaminated with Salmonella.
