On April 13, 2012, the CDC announced that a frozen raw yellowfin tuna product, known as Nakaochi Scrape, from Moon Marine USA Corporation, is the source of the Salmonella outbreak. According to the CDC, information indicates that the Salmonella-contaminated yellowfin tuna product came from a single tuna processing facility in India. **Marler Clark attorney Bill Marler called on Moon Marine USA to release its distribution list on June 22**. Marler noted that nearly 6 months had passed since the Salmonella outbreak traced to sushi began, and that consumers and restaurants were still unaware of the potential danger posed by Salmonella-contaminated yellowfin tuna that could still be on the market. The FDA, CDC, and state and local health departments pinpointed the Salmonella-contaminated yellowfin tuna as the source of the Salmonella outbreak after months of investigation and an analysis of several ingredients used to make sushi.
