Organic Pastures Raw Cream Campylobacter Outbreak

At least 10 Californians became ill with Campylobacter infections after consuming raw cream from Organic Pastures Farm between January and April of 2012. Organic Pastures recalled its raw milk, raw skim milk, raw cream, and raw butter due to potential Campylobacter contamination on May 10, 2012. The raw dairy products were subject to a quarantine order imposed by California State Veterinarian after the Campylobacter contamination was discovered.

According to CDPH, six of the 10 people sickened are under 18. All 10 range in age from nine months to 38 years old; median age is 11.5 years. None of those sickened have been hospitalized. The outbreak cases reside in Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Luis Obispo and Santa Clara counties.
