Wyoming Department of Agriculture - September 2023

The Wyoming Department of Agriculture hosted a conference with state and local Health Department inspectors in Gillette, Wyoming. Speakers were asked to present on emerging topics in the industry and to report on the effects of deregulation of food safety regulations. Bill Marler, a foodborne illness attorney, spoke to this group, sharing stories about his experience with litigating cases when there has been a breach in food safety protocol. He spoke about the real life impacts of a foodborne illness and how it can affect a person well into the future even after the initial symptoms have subsided.
