University of Washington Law School - April 2023

Law students at the University of Washington attended a class with Bill Marler teaching from the perspective of a foodborne illness litigator. In this presentation, Bill provided cases of foodborne outbreaks which showed the importance of advocacy of clients during the litigation process. He also discussed the development of his practice in the specialty area of foodborne illness. Students interacted by asking questions about the beginning with his career and the first cases in the early 1990's with the E.coli Jack in the Box outbreak. In conclusion, Bill shared what skills he believes to be most important in young lawyers as they launch their own careers in the legal world.
