The theme of the discussion centered on the challenges of foodborne diseases. Yuki Minato from the World Health Organization, moderated the discussion. The other panelists included: Markus Lipp - Food Systems and Food Safety Division Martyn Kirk - Australian National University Markus Lipp - food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Laura Gieraltowski - Team Lead at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Mahammad Y. Alwetaid - Saudi FDA The panelists were asked to address four topics that were inclusive of these questions: 1\. What are old but still relevant foodborne illness threats to public health? 2\. What environmental changes have impacted foodborne diseases? 3\. Are there demographic differences related to foodborne illnesses? 4\.
