As of March 8, the CDC had confirmed at least 25 people, including 6 hospitalizations, with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli O26 infections associated with this outbreak. In Michigan, 9 E. coli cases were confirmed in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Kent counties. Iowa reported 5 confirmed illness in the following counties: Polk County (2 illnesses), Linn County (1), Johnson County (1), Dallas County (1). In Missouri, 3 were sickened in Greene County.
