--- title: Hepatitis outbreak reaches 300 cases date: 2003-11-12T04:40:00-08:00 author: admin canonical_url: "https://marlerclark.com/news_events/hepatitis-outbreak-reaches-300-cases" section: Case News Additional --- [All News](/news_events) / [](https://marlerclark.com/news_events) / # Hepatitis outbreak reaches 300 cases The number of confirmed hepatitis A cases stemming from a Beaver County restaurant outbreak is now 300, state officials said this morning.The total stood at 240 cases yesterday and, at that time, the outbreak was already one of the largest ever in the country, said Llelwyn Grant, spokesman for the federal Centers for Disease Control. State Department of Health officials today are continuing their investigation of the outbreak, in which many patrons of Chi-Chi's at the Beaver Valley Mall were exposed to the virus in October. Another outbreak victim has been admitted to UPMC Presbyterian, where six patients are now being treated.
