The only commonality between the six children who contracted E. coli in Fresno County seem to be that they all attended the Big Fresno Fair, reports ABC30.
The Fresno County Department of Health is still investigating and questioning fair operators, but says they may never know definitively what caused the outbreak.
Fair officials say although they are waiting for conclusive results to link E. coli to their event, they’re already planning changes, including adding more handwashing stations and more bilingual signs.
The health department says all six children have recovered. A seventh case, the two-year-old daughter of former TV anchorman John Malos, has not been confirmed to be E. coli. Her condition has much improved, and she is off dialysis.
