The samples were sent to the California Department of Health Services last week after reports of illness began surfacing on May 26.
The public health recommendation is as follows:
Some food product samples have tested positive for E.coli O157:H7. The Department of Community Health strongly urges consumers who may have purchased cooked tri-tip from The Grill on May 18 or May 19 to discard the product or return it to The Grill at 460 West Alluvial.
The Health Department says there are steps to prevent the spread of E.coli, which include:
Washing hands thoroughly with soap and warm water for 20 seconds
- before and after handling food
Prevent contamination of food by:
- cleaning cooking surfaces and utensils thoroughly
