On January 3, 2012 Marler Clark E. coli attorneys filed a lawsuit against Cozy Valley Creamery on behalf of a five-year old child who was hospitalized with an E. coli illness after consuming raw milk produced by the dairy.
In November, 2011 the Tenino, Washington-based raw milk dairy issued a recall of its whole and skim raw milk products after the Washington State Department of Agriculture found E. coli contamination in Cozy Valley's milking parlor and processing area. The State investigation was prompted when people with genetically identical strains of E. coli O157:H7 in Washington reported consuming raw milk products from Cozy Valley.
On January 3, 2012 Marler Clark E. coli attorneys filed a lawsuit on behalf of one of those victims: a five-year old child who was hospitalized with an E. coli infection and developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) after consuming raw milk from the dairy.
