Alta Restaurant Hepatitis A Exposure Lawsuit

Marler Clark filed a class action lawsuit against Alta Restaurant, a West Village restaurant, in April, 2013. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of all Alta Restaurant patrons who were potentially exposed to the hepatitis A virus after eating desserts purchased at the restaurant between March 23 and April 2, 2013, and had to receive a hepatitis A vaccination or Immune Globulin inoculation to prevent infection with hepatitis A.

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene held shot clinics for Alta Restaurant patrons, and several received vaccinations and/or were tested for hepatitis A by private physicians.

Symptoms of hepatitis A infection do not typically appear for at least 2 weeks after exposure to the virus.
