--- title: Possible Listeria Contamination Prompts Cheese Recall in Pittsburgh date: 2012-07-18T16:23:31-07:00 author: Bill Marler canonical_url: "https://marlerclark.com/news_events/possible-listeria-contamination-prompts-cheese-recall-in-pittsburgh" section: News --- [All News](/news_events) / [Case News](https://marlerclark.com/news_events/case-news) / # Possible Listeria Contamination Prompts Cheese Recall in Pittsburgh The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that the Allegheny County Health Department and Whole Foods Market are recalling Jean Perrin Edel de Cleron cheese sold at the Whole Foods store in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood after a person became ill with Listeria contamination and samples tested positive for ListeriaThe cheese was packaged in clear plastic wrap and featured the Whole Foods scale label with a code beginning with the number 293351, the Post-Gazette reports. The victim, a 68 year-old man diagnosed with listeriosis in late may or early June, has since recovered. The cheese was sold between May 20 and July 3. Whole Foods is refunding all recalled cheese.
