Gold Dust West Salmonella Outbreak
As of March 15, seventeen cases of Salmonella linked to The Grille at Gold Dust West have been reported in Elko, Nevada by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. The owner of Gold Dust West, Jacobs Entertainment, Inc., has confirmed that it is cooperating with health officials to identify the source of the contamination. The health department has requested the removal of eggs from the menu of The Grille and is continuing to investigate the suppliers of food products at Gold Dust West.
Symptoms of salmonella include:
- Abdominal cramps
- Fever of 100-102 F
- Bloody diarrhea
- Body aches
