Seattle University School of Law (2011)

In his new book Poisoned: The True Story of the Deadly E. coli Outbreak that Changed the Way Americans Eat, author Jeff Benedict tells the gripping true story of the 1993 Jack in the Box outbreak that introduced the world to E. coli O157:H7. Mr. Benedict tells the story from all angles, but his focus is primarily on the family of a little girl fighting for her life and a young, up and coming attorney Bill Marler, who eventually would secure a record $15.6 million settlement for the girl.

Mr. Marler has since become the nation’s leading attorney representing victims of foodborne illness and a go-to expert on food safety.

Join both author and protagonist on November 17 at 5:30 PM as they share insights from the book and talk food issues at Seattle University Law School, room C-5.
